Job Description:

Bluedot are seeking to fill positions at the mid or senior consultant level to assist in delivering our diverse portfolio of work, with a specific technical focus on supporting organisations to deliver net positive impacts.

We are especially interested in individuals who are passionate about making a difference, can naturally engage with a range of stakeholders across all levels of knowledge, and wish to drive innovation to create better outcomes. Your background can be in academia, conservation or consultancy.

Characteristics

We’re seeking a professional with a strong background in marine biodiversity, conservation and restoration, and net gain. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the marine environment, a creative thinker, and adept multi-tasker with the following skills and experience:
Essential:

  • Masters degree in a biodiversity related subject

  • Experience working with international finance or private development organisations

  • Experience delivering marine conservation and restoration programmes

  • Experience advising on biodiversity net gains

  • Understanding of new and emerging policies and frameworks

  • Experience attending and speaking at UK and international biodiversity events

  • Experience using biodiversity data and analysis tools

  • Confident communicator, with excellent writing skills

  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a remote team

  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required

Desirable:

  • PhD degree in (marine) biodiversity related subject

  • Experience in capacity building

  • Proficiency in a second language, particularly French, Arabic, Spanish or Portuguese

  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and remote sensing

  • Understanding of marine spatial planning

  • Able to demonstrate to the development and application of an innovative approach relating to biodiversity assessment, management or conservation

  • Experience of supervising or managing individuals and/or small teams
